Angela Yap, Founder
A multi-award-winning social entrepreneur, she is a prolific writer and editor whose work has been featured in publications by the Asian Institute of Chartered Bankers, Warwick International Development Summit, The Star, The Edge, Off The Edge, Malaysia SME. She was a former corporate banker and strategist with a Big Four firm. Her repertoire includes the United Nations Development Programme and former elected Governor to the Board of Amnesty International Malaysia.
Angela leads Akasaa’s Publishing and Training practice. She holds a BSc. (Hons) Economics, London School of Economics.
Dheeya Rizmie, Research Assistant/Operations Co-ordinator
Based in London, Dheeya’s expertise is in data analysis and statistical modelling in public health. She formed part of Imperial College London’s team of 11 researchers and is acknowledged in several publications.
As Founder and past President of Warwick Chapter of Women for Women International, her team fundraised over £7300 in its commencing year to sponsor 25 women in year-long educational programmes. Dheeya also served as Deputy Head of Hospitality at the Warwick International Development Summit, and Operations Team Member for TEDxWarwick. Her internships include World Health Organisation, Geneva; The Carbon Trust, UK; The Millennium Project.
She holds a Masters in Public Health (Global Health), Imperial College London; BSc. (Hons) Biomedical Sciences, University of Warwick.
